Comprehensive care and a track record in addressing addictions

Therapeutic interventions with proven effectiveness and a network of specialist drug dependence resources.

Non-profit organisation

Fundación Salud y Comunidad (FSC) is a non-profit organisation, registered under number 08/325 in the register of the State High Protectorate of Foundations (Alto Protectorado de Fundaciones del Estado). It has a firm social commitment and the backing of various public administrations that have funded and trusted its services for years. The organisation has a solid structure and is recognised for its track record, and through several of its facilities it forms part of the Xarxa d’Atenció a les Drogodependències (XAD) of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

A coordinated care network for addiction treatment

One of the main distinguishing features of FSC is its own comprehensive addiction care network, made up of a range of specialist services that act in a coordinated way. This structure makes it possible to offer each person the most suitable resource according to the stage they have reached in their recovery.

Track record and specialist professional team

FSC develops therapeutic programmes based on drug dependence intervention methods and techniques that have proven effective. These interventions draw on more than 30 years of experience in the field, as well as ongoing collaboration with universities and training and research centres. FSC’s professional team is made up of specialists with extensive experience in the field of addictions. Psychologists, psychiatrists, educators, support workers and administrative staff are part of a stable, qualified team, prepared to deal rigorously and sensitively with situations of high social and healthcare complexity. Most of these professionals hold a master’s degree in drug dependence and family therapy, and have at least a decade of experience in mental health.

Support and guidance for families

Work with families is one of the pillars of FSC’s Comprehensive Addiction Care Network. In many cases the intervention begins with the family members themselves, giving them support to bring about changes in the environment that make it easier for the person affected to access treatment. This involvement is essential, since families also need support and guidance throughout the process. In therapeutic communities, their participation is especially important. At the “Riera Major” short-stay centre, for example, family members attend weekly sessions at the facility itself. In addition, the Psychosocial Care Service (SAP) regularly offers group therapy for families, in which guidelines and useful tools are shared for dealing with the different stages of the rehabilitation process.
